Quartered, four-color cake for four belated birthdays in late July. Quarters for tooth and gum smiles. Oil lamps and Constructs erector sets. DC Superhero coloring books on the lower rocks at morning low tide. Row out with the Molly to Manana--after picking the raspberries we were chased by goats. Signing my own name for Dr. Dolittle, Greeks myths, and Freddie the Pig. Art Heist Evan. Sixteen-inch Harbor Pollock. Wax pouches of penny candy in the chimney tool cabinet--gummy bears, Tootsie rolls, butterscotch barrels, red & purple Swedish fish. Nickels in Cathedral Woods. Family arrivals tracked in with binoculars and sounded off with the mauve megaphone as we toss blossoms off the deck of the Laura B, and if the flower washes up on shore you still might come back again next summer...
.....my Monhegan was sold today.
