Do you remember Michael, Daniel and Natalie?? This is their dad, Carlos!!
I knew Carlos flew for Delta and
I was thinking before we left: "What are the chances that Carlos would be our pilot???" I thought: "pretty slim". As soon as the pilot came on the PA to explain our delay on the runway........I KNEW it was he. I asked the flight attendant and she confirmed it. So I asked her if she would give a message to him........ I said: "Please tell Carlos the apple farmer's wife is on board". She came back almost right away and said he kept saying: "No Way!, No Way!"
When we finally took off, Carlos came on the PA again to explain our route to Berlin. He said: "We will be flying at 27000 feet.....heading now over central Connecticut, just east of Hayward Farm in New Hartford." Linda and I were cracking up in our seats. Carlos came to see us on his first break; and at the end of the trip, he was waiting for us in the cockpit. This was just such a cool way to start our trip.
