We lost our Bubba .........

He was hit on the road.... Peter buried him high on a hill in the orchard.

Bubba really knew how to relax........

Jake and Bubba were real buddies......

I spoke to Dad and Tim the night he died. He was as sweet and unique a cat as there ever was, and I will really miss him.

Sweet cat, sweet spirit. I hope memories of him will make you smile the way we did with Fineas. Now to that legacy of pleasure, we add "Bubba."

Mr. B. lived a short but full life. He lived exactly as he was meant to live: out in the fields hunting and exploring. I loved to watch him prance when he caught a mouse or chipmunk. I think that he is the only cat that I have ever seen take down a squirrel, and I wonder if it was his presence that has so far kept the bears away. There has never been a cat who loved to eat more than Bubba. Not only did he relish his own food; he was equally fond of everyone else's. His performance this past Thanksgiving will live on every year that holiday is celebrated here. His Thanksgiving Day devouring of a can of imported goose paté was perhaps his supreme accomplishment among his many raids on our food supply.

Mr. B., we miss you very much, but we will never forget you. You were a lifeforce if there ever was one.

Your human father,
Peter

We just checked your blog and were horrified by what we saw. . .Nico's response was, Oh no, I can't bear to look. And Ella is crying. We are so sorry because we really got attached to Bubba just through his pictures and you must miss him so much.

Peter's right, though: he lived a perfect cat life, and who knows what small, furry creature he was chasing when he was killed.

Poor Jake--they look so close, he will really miss his friend.

Love from Jenna, Nico and Ella
